How the program works
- Who can join
- Anyone 18 or older. Cash rewards need a US bank account. Everywhere else, you earn a free month of Unplug Premium for each person who subscribes, up to 12 months.
- What counts
- Premium subscriptions, Unplug Points, and forfeited stakes all count. It is a share of what they pay Unplug, paid by Unplug.
- When you get paid
- New earnings clear 60 days after they are credited. That covers refund windows. After that, cash out any time, from $25.
- The rate
- The rate is locked in for each person when they join. We can change it for future invites.
- Taxes
- As your payouts approach $600, Stripe asks for your tax info before the next cash out. If you ever earn enough to need a tax form, Stripe emails it to you in January, and mails a paper copy if you did not choose electronic delivery. You are responsible for your own taxes.
- Disclosure
- Say that you earn from your link in every post where it appears, in words, not just the platform's paid-partnership toggle. "I earn if you subscribe through my link" or "paid link" next to it both work.
- One level deep
- You earn from people you invite directly, never from people they invite. Your own accounts do not count.
- Your status
- You are an independent creator, not an employee or agent of Unplug. If a purchase behind a reward is refunded, the reward is reversed.

What creators ask us.
Do I need the app?
No. Your code, link, dashboard, and payouts all live here on the web. If you also use the Unplug app, sign in here the same way you sign in there, with the same Google account or the same email address, so everything you earn stays on one account.
Where can I share it?
Anywhere you already talk to your audience: bio link, stories, captions, DMs, newsletters, or saying the code on camera. Plain text links only, please. No logos or app store badges, and nothing that could be mistaken for an official Unplug page.
What counts as someone I brought in?
Someone new to Unplug who joins through your link or enters your code when they sign up. From then on, for their first 3 months, you earn 50% of what they pay Unplug: Premium subscriptions, Unplug Points, and forfeited stakes. Your own accounts and people who already had Unplug do not count.
When do I get paid?
Earnings show up in your dashboard as they happen and clear 60 days later, which covers refund windows. After that, cash out any time once you reach $25. Stripe sends the money to your bank, usually within a few business days. If you close your account with less than that, we still pay it out.
What if someone gets a refund?
The reward from that purchase is reversed. That is what the 60 day clearing window is for, so a reversal almost never touches money you already withdrew.
I'm not in the US. Can I still join?
Yes. Cash rewards need a US bank account, so outside the US you earn a free month of Unplug Premium for every person who subscribes, up to 12 months. If you later verify a phone number in the app, your rewards follow the country of that number.
How should I describe Unplug?
You set a screen-time goal and back it with your own money. Hit the goal and you keep your money. Miss it and you forfeit it. Nobody else ever gets it. It is not betting, gambling, or a way to win other people's money, and saying so breaks the terms. The materials page has lines that land.
