Accountability that sticks

Your phone is taking your days. Take them back.

Set a screen-time goal and actually follow through. Put real money on the line, and there's no backing out until you've earned it.

Stay under your limit and you pay nothing. Fall short and the forfeit you agreed to kicks in. See how it works

How many hours a day on your phone?

4.0 hours a day
1h10h

That adds up to

61 days a year

About 25% of your waking life, handed to the screen.

Unplug turns that number into a goal you'll actually keep.

How it works

Set a goal. Put money on it. Follow through.

Commit to a challenge

Start a personal challenge with your own limit and stake, or join a group challenge a friend already set up.

Link your card

Connect a card so your commitment is real. Nothing is charged unless you fall short of your goal.

Follow through

Stay under your limit and you owe nothing. Fall short and the forfeit you agreed to kicks in. That bit of pressure is what gets you to follow through.

Two ways to do it

On your own, or with friends.

Personal

Set your own terms

You pick the limit, the length, and your real-money stake. Your own money on the line, so you actually follow through.

Group

Join one with friends

Join a challenge a friend set up. The terms are already set, and you take it on together, each chasing your own goal and cheering each other to the finish.

Why it works

Real stakes. Real follow-through.

A goal you can quietly abandon isn't a goal. Money on the line is what turns "I should" into "I did."

Your money, your word

A stake big enough to matter, so you think twice before you reach for the phone.

No backing out

You decide before a challenge starts. After that there's no backing out, and that is what works. Being locked in is what gets you across the line.

Win and you pay nothing

Hit your goal and you owe nothing. The forfeit only lands if you slip.

The payoff is your time

Forfeits aren't the point. Calmer evenings, clearer mornings, and hours back are.

How the stake works

When you're charged
Only if you fall short of a goal you committed to.
How much
The exact forfeit you agreed to, never a cent more.
How often
Once per challenge, and only if you fall short. No recurring charges.
Paying nothing
Easy: stay under your limit. Win, and your card is never touched.

Questions

Everything you're wondering, answered.

When exactly am I charged?

Only if you fall short of a challenge you committed to. Stay under your limit and you pay nothing. There's nothing to pay up front.

What if I succeed?

Nothing at all. The card you linked is never charged. Hitting your goal is the whole reward.

What's the difference between personal and group challenges?

In a personal challenge you set your own limit, length, and real-money stake. In a group challenge you join one a friend created, with the terms already set, and you take it on together. Either way, you're accountable for your own goal.

Can I back out once I start?

No, and that's the point. You decide before a challenge begins. Once it's running, you see it through or pay the forfeit you agreed to. That commitment is exactly what makes it work.

What if I fell short but think it's wrong?

You can dispute it. Open the challenge in the app, go to the challenge details, and tap Dispute. You have up to 24 hours after the challenge ends to submit, and nothing is charged until that window closes. A disputed charge stays on hold until the dispute is decided.

Is this gambling?

No. You commit to a goal and agree to a forfeit if you don't meet it. There is no betting and nothing is left to chance. It's a commitment contract: you set the goal and the stake in advance and hold yourself to it.

What's free, and what's premium?

The accountability core is free: personal and group challenges with real money on the line, screen-time limits, and doing it with friends. Premium ($7.99/month or $59.99/year) adds Practice mode, where you set limits with no money on the line, plus guided breathing for the moment you hit a limit.

Who do I talk to if something looks off?

Message us in the app or email services@unplugmobile.app and a real person will look into it.

How is my card kept safe?

Your card is stored by Stripe, our payment processor. Unplug never sees or stores your full card details.

Win back your time

Back your goal, and finally keep it.

Set a screen-time limit, put real stakes behind it, and follow through.
